Michaela

Hi, I’m Michaela — a proud mum of three amazing young children, who inspire me every single day. My love for them is beyond words, and they are the reason I have such a strong passion for caring for children and supporting families.

My journey began with KidzPlay London, a stay-and-play café and events space I created to bring local families together. I saw how much parents needed a place where their children could play safely, while they could relax, connect, and feel part of a community. Building that space showed me how powerful it is when families are supported, and how important it is for children to feel loved and valued.

Before that, I worked as an Ofsted-registered manager in a children’s care home, where I was responsible for the wellbeing of young people with complex needs. That role shaped me deeply — it taught me that children need more than just supervision. They need care, consistency, and a sense that they truly matter.

But more than my professional background, I understand this journey as a parent myself. I know what it’s like to be a working mum, juggling school runs, tiredness, shopping, cooking, and still trying to give your children the best of you. I know what it’s like to have multiple children with different needs and endless energy — as soon as my own children walk through the door after school, the first thing they want is food and fun. I get it, because I live it too.

That’s why KidzPlay Early Rise is about more than just childcare. It’s about supporting parents as well as children:

• Making evenings easier by providing a proper meal so there’s no rush to cook.

• Giving children the chance to burn off energy in safe, structured play.

• Offering parents peace of mind, knowing their children are happy, fed, and cared for until they arrive.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to spread love, stability, and support to children and families in our community.

Lerissa

Hi, I’m Lerissa — a childcare professional with over 15 years of experience, and someone who has always had a natural love for working with children.

My journey began in my mum’s breakfast and after-school club, where I discovered how rewarding it was to be part of children’s lives each day. From there, I knew childcare was exactly where I was meant to be, and I’ve never looked back.

Over the years, I’ve worked in nurseries, primary schools, outreach programmes, and  managing supporting vulnerable young people. Each step taught me something new, but one lesson has always stood out: children need more than just supervision. They need encouragement, consistency, and the chance to build confidence in themselves — qualities that can shape them positively for life.

For me, creating a safe, caring, and fun environment is at the heart of everything. Children bring so much joy, especially when they feel happy, secure, and free to be themselves.

We wanted to build something that makes a real difference for parents and carers:

• A place where children can play, learn, and thrive.

• A service that eases the stress of busy family life.

• A community where parents feel supported too.

Our goal is simple: to provide care, fun, learning, and the chance for every child to flourish.
